Fly Wings Contain Antidotes

A pair of fly wings distinguishes it from other flies (such as grasshoppers, butterflies, etc.). Diptera is a large class, with about 240,000 species, of which only half are described. It is an insect class that is very important in terms of environment and for people (medical and economic). Analyzing the fly’s DNA, American researchers say that houseflies and blueflies carry more than 600 different pathogens.
“People have always had the idea that flies spread germs, but they didn’t know the real basis of this idea and how widely flies carry and spread germs,” said Penn State University researcher Professor Donald Bryant in an interview with the BBC. In a study of the microbiomes of 116 houseflies and blowflies from three different continents, researchers found, in some cases, these flies carried hundreds of different species of bacteria, many of which are harmful to humans. Because flies often live close to humans, scientists have long suspected they played a role in carrying and spreading diseases, but this study, which was originally initiated at Penn State’s Eberly College of Science, adds further proof, as well as insights into the extent of that threat. Another researcher from Tokyo University, Dr. Juan Alvarez Bravo confirms that in the near future “people will be astonished to find that flies are being used as antibiotics in the hospitals.”
“This is a magnificent miracle from Allah the Almighty to put the disease and the solution in such a tiny creature as the fly,” said Dr. Abdulhakim al-Qobati, a laboratory worker. He further highlighted that, due to the habitat in which the fly used to dwell, the fly is a simple way to transmit infections. According to al-Qobati, Allah creates both the cure and the disease in the two wings of this fly to demonstrate His Supreme Power. This study examined microscopic bacteria collected from the bodies of houseflies and blueflies using the DNA formatting method. It is seen that house flies which are present in different countries of the world carry 351 types of pathogens. And the blue fly, which is found mainly in hot countries, carries 316 types of pathogens.
Narrated in the hadiths of Bukhari and Ibn Majah, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “If a fly falls into a vessel of any of you, let him drown it. Because one of its wings has germs in it, and the other has antibiotics.” (Sahih al-Bukhari)
The Holy Qur’an says, “Surely Allah is not ashamed to give the similitude of a fly or anything smaller than that.” (Surat al-Baqara: 27)
Allah further said-
“O people! An analogy is narrated, so listen to it carefully; Those whom you worship besides Allah will not be able to produce a single fly, even though they are all united. And if a fly snatches something from them, they will not be able to rescue it from it. Both the supplicant and the supplicant are powerless.” (Al Quran)
Dr. Wajih Bayeshri of King Abdul Aziz University conducted several experiments on flies in the light of this hadith. He grabbed a few flies from some of the sterile containers and tied them in a sterile test tube. Then turn the tube upside down in a glass of water. After the flies have fallen into the water, take a few drops of water from that water and see that there are many germs in that water. Then he dipped the fly in the water with a sterile needle. Then he tested it with a few drops of water and found that there were no more germs in the water than before, but less. Then sink again. Then test again with a few drops of water. In this way, after several tests, the number of germs decreased by the number of times the flies were submerged, that is, Dr. Wajih proved that one wing of the fly contained germs and the other contained antibiotics.
The 8th Medical Conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, recently sent two research reports from Canada stating that flies contain substances that can kill germs. Sheikh Mostafa and Sheikh Khalil Mollah have published a book on this subject through a series of collections of research from Germany and Britain, the main subject of which was:”Surely one fly has disease on one wing, and the other has antiseptic.” (Bukhari).
When a fly sits on a food, the wing that has germs in it fills the wing with food. But its other wing has preventive medicine. If the fly is drowned, it can be mixed with resistant food to kill the deadly germs and that food is conducive to health and well-being. Otherwise, this food can become a germ and cause human destruction.
Fourteen years ago, humans did not have the power to see these tiny germs. But the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) pointed to them and spoke about them and described the dangerous aspects that are harmful to our health.

Miracle of Mosquito in Quran

The Qur’an contains some special information about mosquitoes. Allah says, “Surely Allah is not ashamed to give a similitude for a mosquito or something above that. Indeed, those who believe are convinced that the similitude presented by their Lord is perfect. And those who disbelieve say: What is the purpose of Allah in presenting such a parable? By this Allah Ta’ala misleads many and guides many to the right path. He does not mislead anyone except the wicked.” (Surat al-Baqarah: 2:26)
Modern science has helped us to understand some of the underlying reasons why mosquitoes are mentioned in the Qur’an as examples. They have discovered a lot of information about the behavior, nature and structure of mosquitoes that will really make anyone think. Some of them are- 1. There are about 2,600 species of mosquitoes; 2. Mosquitoes have more than a hundred eyes; 3. The mosquito has 48 teeth in its mouth; 4. A mosquito has three full hearts; 5. Mosquitoes have six separate knives in their noses and they use each knife separately; 6. Mosquito bodies have digital X-ray machines that detect human skin in the dark of night; 7. Each mosquito has its own anesthetic vaccine, which is used to inject blood into the human body to stun the area so that it does not cause any pain. They have special arrangements for blood test. Because, they don’t like all types of blood; 9. Mosquitoes bite about 500 times more during the full moon; 10. Mosquitoes move their wings about 500 times a second when they fly; 11. Mosquitoes are more responsible than any other animal for the deaths of humans worldwide; 12. Mosquitoes can target them from a distance of 18 feet; and 13. Female mosquitoes live longer than males.
Even from a scientific point of view, we would be surprised to know that the information that the Qur’an gave to mankind about fourteen hundred years ago has been proven by modern science to be considered not only the purity of the Qur’an, but also a living miracle. It has already been proved that three scientific points are indicated in this verse. Surprisingly, in 1922, the first scientist, F. W. Edwards, claimed in his research paper that a species of insect that feeds on blood from mosquitoes had been found in the Malay region of South Asia. The animal was named Kulikoids Anopheles. ( Scientific America, Mosquitoes Have Flying, Blood Sucking Parasite of Their Own, 2014)
There is a story in the Quran about mosquitoes. Nimrod was the name of the king of the time of Ibrahim (A.S.) the father of the Muslim nation. He considered himself so high that he even claimed to be the creator. He also claimed that birth-death, food supply were all within his power. Allah Ta’ala has mentioned in the Qur’an a conversation of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) with him (Surah Al-Baqarah-2: 256). This humble army was annihilated by numerous mosquitoes. And this little mosquito entered the nose of the humble. In the end, death was caused by a mosquito that claimed to be the Creator. This story in the Qur’an reminds us of the power of the mosquito and the purpose of its use. It can be a test from God, just as it can be a punishment for our sins. The same thing happened with Nimrod.
Fight with Mosquitoes:
God informed Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) that, “Ibrahim! Warn Nimrod before the punishment comes on him. ‘So Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) went to Nimrod to warn him but Nimrod was happy to see him and said,’ We have killed your God. And immediately showed the arrows. Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) said, My Creator is eternal, everlasting. Then Nimrod said, “If he does not die, tell his army to come together.” I am also gathering my troops on the ground.”
Upon hearing this, Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) said to him, “Fear Allah, He is the One who has given you the kingdom and He is the Rewarder of the Hereafter.” On the appointed day, the army of Nimrod gathered on the ground. And he asked Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) where is the army of your Lord.
Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) pointed to the distant sky. A black cloud could be seen in the distance as it approached, and the field was filled with the sound of millions of mosquitoes. But Nimrod said in a contemptuous tone, this is a mosquito! Trivial creatures, unarmed again. During this time, mosquitoes took over the heads of each soldier. Then, before they knew it, the mosquitoes entered their brains through their noses. Then the sting began. There was chaos among the soldiers. Losing their sense of humour, the archers shot arrows and infantry swords blindly around them, injuring or killing each other unknowingly.
During the battle with the mosquitoes, Nimrod escaped and came to the palace. At that moment, a weak limp mosquito chased him and for a while he turned around his head and entered the brain through the nostrils. Then the brain began to sting. Nimrod became restless with pain and entered the palace like a madman and lost his way in pain and took off his shoes and started hitting himself on the head. Mosquitoes refrain from biting when hit with footwear and do not stop biting by hitting anything else. Eventually, Nimrod hired a full-time employee to deal a minor blow to the head.
He had to endure this ordeal for 40 long years. At that time Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) met him and said, O Nimrod! It is abominable to employ a slave to injure one’s own head, with one’s own shoes. He also said that there is still time to accept Allah as omnipotent and unique. But he did not believe but was destroyed.
“O men! Here is a parable set forth! Listen to it! Those on whom, besides God, ye call, cannot create (even) a fly, if they all met together for the purpose! And if the fly should snatch away anything from them, they would have no power to release it from the fly. Feeble are those who petition and those whom they petition!” (Al-Hajj: 73)
And that is what Allah means in the verse 26 of Surah Al-Baqarah:
“Surely Allah is not ashamed to set forth a parable even of a mosquito or any thing above that;”(Quran 2:26)
Of course, there is a significant wisdom in why the Quran mentions female spider specially. However, this wisdom came into light hundreds of years after the verse was sent down, as a result of some scientific researches. As you read in details, mosquitoes which suck people’s blood and use it for their eggs are female mosquitoes. This is why the Quran chose the female mosquito for the similitude in order to point out to this reality.

Blessings of Rizik in Dawn Time

The time of dawn is very pleasing to Allah. He took the oath this morning. The Qur’an says: “I swear by the morning when it shines. Surely Hell is one of the terrible dangers.” (Surah Muddaththir: 33-35).
Another verse says, “I swear by those who set out in the morning. (Surah: Adiyat: 3)
There is no pair of waking up in the morning for success and progress in all worldly affairs including business and trade. The best welfare is at dawn or early in the day. This is the most appropriate and blessed time not only for worship but also for ordinary work.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed for blessings in the morning work. According to the narration of Hazrat Sakhar Al-Ghamidi (R.A.), the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed, “O Allah, bless the beginning of the day for my ummah.”
Hazrat Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not put any work on the agenda after the Isha prayer. He used to eat before Esha prayers. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to go to bed early to enjoy the dawn or the blessed morning. The Prophet prayed for the blessing of the Ummah every morning.
Hazrat Fatima (R.A.) is the daughter of the Prophet (S.A.W.) said, “I slept soundly in the morning.” Hazrat Rasul (S.A.W.) came to my house. Moved me. Called and said, mother get up! Accept the sustenance of your Lord. Do not join the group of lazy people. Because Allah distributes the sustenance of the people from dawn till sunrise.”(At-Targhib: 2617)
Narrated in the source of Hazrat Sakhar Al-Ghamdi (R.A.), ” The Prophet (S.A.W.) prayed, “O Allah! Bless the dawn of my Ummah.” Nabiji used to send a large or small group of warriors in the morning. Narrator of this hadith Hazrat Sakhar (R.A.) was a businessman. He would also send his merchant caravan somewhere in the morning. As a result, he became rich and possessed vast wealth.” (Tirmidhi Sharif: 1212) Nabiji further said, “Seek Rizik in the morning. Because the morning is a good time to be blessed and successful.” (Majmauz Jawaid: 6220).
The lazy sleep of the morning is taking away the blessings of life. Blessings behind sleep is decreasing income-earning business! The love bond of the Lord floats to the tune of Fajr Azan in the morning air at the sound of trees and fish! Wellness is spread in the morning air. The mind-mood became alive with the breath of the morning.

Sleep is an Infinite Blessing of Allah

There is no limit to the blessings of God. Sleep is a special blessing of Allah. Just as no living thing can survive without water, no animal can live without rest. If you have life, you have to rest. Eating and rest complement each other. Sleep relieves body fatigue. Sleep enhances peace of mind. Medical science also advises every person to take eight hours of rest for physical well-being. If you do not sleep properly, neither the body nor the mind is good. It has been said in the Qur’an, “Allah has made for you the night as a covering, the sleep as a rest, and the day as a waking day.” (Surat al-Furqan, verse 48). ‘Glory be to Allah, Who has made the night for you that you may rest therein, and the day to see; Surely Allah is full of bounty to the pure, but most people do not give thanks.” (Surat al-Muminun: 61).
An animal looks for food in broad daylight. No animal seeks food in the dark at night. But very few people think about these miracles of God. It has been said in the Qur’an, “Say, ‘Have you ever considered that if Allah made the day to stand on you till the Day of Resurrection, then there is no god but Allah?’ Who can bring a night for you, where you can rest? Do you not see (the blessings of Allah)? It is His mercy that He has made for you night and day. So that you may rest (at night) and seek His bounty (during the day), so that you may give thanks to Him.” (Surah Al-Qasas: 62-63).
“The Prophet (PBUH) disliked talking after the Isha prayer and staying awake till late at night. However, he would sometimes wake up at night to teach religion and would often go to Abu Bakr’s house at night for good advice about Muslims.”(Tahabi: 7203)
A balanced diet is essential for a healthy and strong life, as well as moderate sleep. This is a great blessing of Allah. Through this people get freshness. Not getting enough sleep disrupts all work. Sleep is the best way to relax the body.
Allah says in Quran: “We have made your sleep a source of fatigue, We have made the night a covering, We have made the day a means of subsistence, We have made the seven heavens firm above your head.”
Loss of Not Getting Enough Sleep
Adequate sleep is essential to maintain good physical and mental health. Not getting enough sleep can lead to fatigue, loss of concentration, depression, and anxiety. If the sleep is less, the employee will stay awake even after going to work in the office, this will not only affect his work. Rather there will be the possibility of job losses.
Sleeping is also Worship
If you sleep to save the energy of worship, that sleep will also be considered as worship. Mu’adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say, “And I sleep (at night) and pray while awake, just as I hope for reward by waking up and praying, so I hope for reward by sleeping.” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 3996)
Many of the Companions did not have the time or opportunity to perform naafil prayers or recite the Qur’an during their busy days. So they would wake up in the middle of the night and offer naafil prayers and recite the Qur’an and cry out to Allah. Hazrat Ayesha (R.A.) narrates in the source, ‘I never saw Rasulullah (S.A.W.) sleeping before Esha and talking after Esha. After Esha, maybe he was busy in Zikir, it was only for profit, otherwise he would have fallen asleep. This will keep you free from all unnecessary activities. Hazrat Ayesha (R.A.) said, ‘It is permissible for three types of people to stay up at night newlyweds, travelers and those who perform naafil prayers on the night of marriage.’ (Musnad Abu Yala: 469)

Fingerprint Mystery

Finger prints have been described in the great book Al-Quran fourteen and a half years ago. When this verse of the Qur’an was revealed:
اَيَحْسَبُ الْاِنْسَانُ اَلَّنْ نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهٗؕ
“Does man think that I cannot assemble his bones?”
“Then the disbelievers started laughing at this verse. Believers argue about the resurrection after death, and how the bones of the dead can be identified separately on Judgment Day after being dismembered. God can understand which of the bones? This is by no means possible.” Then Allah said to them:
بَلٰى قٰدِرِيْنَ عَلٰٓى اَنْ نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهٗ
“Rather, I am able to shape his fingerprints” (Surah Qiyamah: 3-4).
There have been no two identical sets of fingerprints found among the millions of fingerprints collected and analysed! Even identical twins have distinctive fingerprints, believe it or not. This is why criminals are identified via fingerprints. A book published in 1788 by J.C.A. Mayer, a German doctor, was the first to state that fingerprints are unique. He also used drawings of fingerprint patterns to support this claim. As people get older, their appearance may change – hair may turn gray or white or fall out, and the shape of the face might change. People grow mustaches or change hairstyles to alter their appearance. But one thing that does not change is their fingerprint pattern. The fingerprints stay the same for whole life.

Epidemics in the Light of Quran and Hadith

The Muslim attitude regarding epidemics may be traced back to the earliest beginnings of Islam. These beliefs were founded on logic and reason, as well as Quranic and Prophetic injunctions. The outbreak was regarded as a divine decree rather than a punishment for sins committed by Allah’s servants. During epidemics, despondency was regarded as un-Islamic. Those who heroically faced such dangers (while taking all necessary safeguards) but perished were known as Martyrs.
During natural disasters, Muslims are reminded that many individuals have suffered and had their faith tested in the past. People nowadays will be put to the test in their lives as well. Allah likes people who display Patience (Arabic, Sabr) in the face of adversity and hardships, according to Muslims. Quran Says: “Do not dispute and [thus] lose courage and [then] your strength would depart; and be patient. Indeed, Allah is with the As Saabiroon (Those who keep patience).” (Quran 8:46).
In another Verse of Quran reward of Patience is described in these words: “Only those who are patient shall receive their rewards in full, without Hisaab (without limit).” (Quran, 39:10).
It is in the light of Quranic observations that in one of the important Hadith, Prophet Muhammad is reported to have said; “Whoever persists in being patient, Allah will make him patient. Nobody can be given a blessing better and greater than patience (Sabr).” (Sahih Al-Bukhari). Prophet also said: “As-Sabr (the patience) is illumination.” (Sahih Muslim).
For lethal epidemics, no specific medicine has been proposed. Strong suggestions were made, however, to keep a safe distance from epidemic areas and to ask individuals not to relocate away from epidemic areas. They were instructed to remain in their current location. As part of Azaan from Mosques, “staying at home” was permitted even in the event of an emergency.
Narrated Abdurrahman bin ‘Awe (R.A.), “I have heard Allah’s Messenger saying, ‘If you hear about it (an outbreak of plague) in a land, do not go to it; but if the plague breaks out in a country where you are staying, do not run away from it.” ( Al Bukhari)
Messenger of Allah (PBUH), said: “Do not cause harm or reciprocate harm. Whoever harms others, Allah will harm him. Whoever is harsh with others, Allah will be harsh with him.” (Al Hadith)
Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: “Prayer for a Muslim: Oh Allah I beg for Good Health and Faith with Good Conduct.” (Al Bukhari)
Narrated by Jabir (R.A.), Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: “Every disease has a cure” (Sahih Muslim)
Alasalah” (Come for the prayer) at the end of the Azaan, on a rainy or a very cold night during the journey. (Al Bukhari, Book Call for Prayers)
Muslims believe that life and death are determined by the will of Allah. Muslims accept the suffering or even death as a form of test. Instead of complaining, he chooses to sincerely seek Allah’s forgiveness and turns to Allah in all of his affairs as the calamity could also serve as a warning from Allah for wrongdoings as highlighted in following verses:
“And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much.” (42:30)
The Caliph Umar’s (R.A.) measures reflected a balance approached and has set an important precedent for the following Muslims generations. He had indicated that the disease epidemic was a clear mafsadah which needed to be prevented through any permissible means. His balanced approach had set an example for other leaders to follow scientifically to the latest medical advancement when managing pandemics.
The Ottomans empire provided us many lessons with regards to the plague. Medicine was becoming more professionalized in the Ottoman Empire by the 16th century. The new generation of physicians began to practice evidence-based medicine using empirical evidence in treating the plague. They began to distinguish between the Black Death and other diseases that were also included under the term for plague. It resulted in greater emphasis on hygiene as stressed in the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.)
Muslims should maintain good thoughts about Allah and spread positivity in times of calamity. Despite the trial, Muslims should always be looking forward to His blessings and forgiveness.
“None of you should die without having good expectations in Allah”. (Muslim)
In another verse, Allah says:
“Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured.” (Quran,13: 28)
The following verse puts emphasis on our own response instead of judging others during times of calamities.
“That was a nation which has passed on. It will have [the consequence of] what it earned, and you will have what you have earned. And you will not be asked about what they used to do.” (Surah Baqarah, 2:134)
“And for all the effort that a believer puts in to deal with the test from Allah, He has promised a meaningful end. This is one of the basis for Muslims to always remain hopeful as recorded in the Quran, “For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.” (Quran, 94:5)
In the event of an outbreak, authorities are required to take drastic actions; sometimes at the expense of other factors – such as economy or politics – in order to save lives. As pandemic threatens public health security, every Muslim has to comply to the advice from the experts. The success of curbing the transmission of a disease during pandemic largely depends on the adherence compliance to policies at both national and international levels. This is when a highly self-motivated and well-informed population is far more effective in implementing decisions by leaders than a policed and ignorant population.

Lightning is a Sign from Allah

The roar of lightning and the flash of light are manifestations of the great power of God and a special warning from God to mankind. If he wants, he can punish his disobedient servants by using this lightning. However, Allah does not always treat His servants as harshly as punishment. For Allah is the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, and the Most Forgiving.
The Holy Qur’an says that lightning is one of the signs of Allah’s power, which He has placed to warn His beloved servants. He can punish anyone at any time if he wants. Although Allah, the Most Merciful, does not do that in all cases. Allah revealed a unique surah called lightning. In that Surah, Allah says about thunderbolts,
“The thunder glorifies His praises, as do the angels in awe of Him. He sends thunderbolts, striking with them whoever He wills. Yet they dispute about Allah. And He is tremendous in might.” (Surah Ar Ra’d: verse 13)
Allah says:
“Praise be to Allaah. There is nothing on earth that does not proclaim His praise, holiness and majesty;) But you do not understand their holiness and majesty.” (Bani Isra’il, 44).
And it is said in the hadith that the name of the angel engaged in raining is Ra’d (Tirmidhi 3116). Allah reveals lightning in the sky. It can also be a source of fear for people, because it burns everything to ashes. Again, it gives hope that after the lightning, there will be rain, which is the mainstay of human and animal life.
Allah is full of knowledge and strength. Those who have foolish hearing can only hear the roar in the clouds, but those who have the sense of hearing can see the signs of God’s infinite power in the thunder. Seeing the power and infinite strategy of Allah, all the other angels including the angels who are in charge of blowing the clouds also recite tasbih in fear of him. Human activity is the main cause of lightning. The more disobedience, fornication, adultery, injustice and oppression increase in the world, the more various kinds of disasters will increase in the world.
Tafsir Ibn Abbas, published by the Royal Al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought, Jordan, states in his commentary on these two verses:
“(He [Allah] shows you the lightning) – rain, it is a fear for the wayfarer, because it will make his clothes wet. Rises above that which contains the rain.”
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Your Almighty Lord has said: If My slaves had obeyed My command, I would have rained on them at night, given them the sun in the morning, and I would never have heard their thunder. Elsewhere, when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) heard the roar of the clouds, he would stop talking and recite this verse – ‘Subhanallaji Yusabbihur Raddu Bihamdihi wal Mala-Iqatu Min Khi-Fatihi’. That is, I am proclaiming the holiness of the entity whose sanctification is the roar of the clouds with His praise. And the angels praise with fear. The beloved Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught his ummah various prayers for protection from lightning. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) heard the sound of thunder, he used to say, Elsewhere, the person who hears the sound of thunder and recites this prayer, ‘Subhanallahi wa Bihamdihi’, will not be hit by lightning.” (Al Hadith)

Rain is a Wonderful Blessing of Allah

The word Rain مطر غَيْثٍ etc mentioned 23 times in Quran in 20 verses.
“O you who have believed, do not invalidate your charities with reminders or injury as does one who spends his wealth [only] to be seen by the people and does not believe in Allah and the Last Day. His example is like that of a [large] smooth stone upon which is dust and is hit by a downpour that leaves it bare. They are unable [to keep] anything of what they have earned. And Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.” (Quran, 2:264)
“And the example of those who spend their wealth seeking means to the approval of Allah and assuring [reward for] themselves is like a garden on high ground which is hit by a downpour – so it yields its fruits in double. And [even] if it is not hit by a downpour, then a drizzle [is sufficient]. And Allah , of what you do, is Seeing.” (Quran, 2:265)

And when they have prostrated, let them be [in position] behind you and have the other group come forward which has not [yet] prayed and let them pray with you, taking precaution and carrying their arms. Those who disbelieve wish that you would neglect your weapons and your baggage so they could come down upon you in one [single] attack. But there is no blame upon you, if you are troubled by rain or are ill, for putting down your arms, but take precaution. Indeed, Allah has prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment.” (Quran, 4:102)

“Such as remember Allah, standing, sitting, and reclining, and consider the creation of the heavens and the earth, (and say): Our Lord! Thou createst not this in vain. Glory be to Thee! Preserve us from the doom of Fire.” (Al-Qur’an 3:191)
For the permanence of life in one location, Rain is a requirement. Rain is referenced in several verses of the Quran, which is extremely important for all the living things, including people, where substantial information is provided concerning rain formation and its proportions and consequences. The fact that at the time of the revelation of the Quran none of this information could be found demonstrates that the Qur’an is the word of Allah.
This ‘measure’ referred to in the text relates to a number of rain qualities. First of all, there is always the same amount of rain falling on the earth. One second, 16 million tons of water are believed to evaporate from the ground. This is comparable to the water that falls in one second on the earth. It indicates that water circulates constantly according to a ‘measure’ in a balanced cycle.

The Proportion of Rain
In the eleventh verse of Surah Az-Zukhruf, rain is defined as water sent down in due measure. The verse is as follows:
وَالَّذِىْ نَزَّلَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءًۢ بِقَدَرٍ‌ۚ فَاَنْشَرْنَا بِهٖ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا‌ ۚ كَذٰلِكَ تُخْرَجُوْنَ
“And He who sends down (from time to time) water from the sky in due measure, and We raise to life therewith a land that is dead. Even so will you be raised (from the dead).” (Al-Qur’an 43:11)
The Formation of Rain
How rain forms had long been a big mystery to humanity. It could not have been feasible to know at which stages rain formed until air radars were found. The rain is formed in three phases: First of all, the raw rain material is raised in the air. The clouds formed later and rain drops finally appeared. These stages of the Quran, when detailed information about the development of rainy years was provided in advance, are clearly stated;
“It is Allah Who sends the Winds, and they raise the Clouds: then does He spread them in the sky as He wills, and break them into fragments, until you see rain-drops issue from the midst thereof: then when He has made them reach such of his servants as He wills behold, they do rejoice!” (Al Quran)
Life Given to a Dead Land
In the Qur’an, a lot of verses call our attention to a particular function of rain, which is “giving life to a dead land”. It is stated in a verse as:
“We send down pure water from the sky. That with it We may give life to a dead land, and slake the thirst of things We have created, cattle and men in great numbers.” (Al-Qur’an 25:48- 49)
Seeds and plants on the earth find numerous metallic salts and elements essential for their growth here in these rain drops. This event is informed in another verse of the Qur’an as follows:
وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً مُّبٰـرَكًا فَاَنْۢبَـتْـنَا بِهٖ جَنّٰتٍ وَّحَبَّ الْحَصِيْدِ ۙ
“And We send down from the sky rain chartered with blessing, and We produce therewith gardens and grain for harvests.” (Al-Qur’an 50:9)
Salt falling from rain is a minor example of a few fertilizers used to increase fertility (calcium, magnesium, potassium, etc). On the other side, the heavy metals found in these aerosol kinds are other components which enhance fertility in plant development and output. These sea-originated aerosols also contribute to the forest development and feed. In this manner, the entire surface of land each year decreases to 150 million tons of fertilizer. There would be very little vegetation on the Earth if there was no such natural fertilization and the ecological equilibrium would be disturbed. More interestingly, Allah had informed the Quran centuries before of this reality that could only be found by modern science.
The falling speed is another statistic linked to rain. The rain clouds have a minimum altitude of 1.200 m. When an object with the same weight and size of a rain drop fell from this height, it would constantly accelerate and fall on the ground at 558 km/h. Of course, any object hitting the earth at this speed would inflict great harm. In the event of a similar drop in rain, all harvested regions, residences and cars would be devastated, people would not be able to go around with appropriate safeguards. Moreover, these calculations are developed for clouds of 1,200 meters high, but rain clouds of 10,000 meters high also exist. A fall in rain from such an altitude might usually reach a highly destructive rate. It doesn’t work like this, however. Regardless of how high they fall the average rainfall speed only reaches the ground 8-10 km/h. This is because they take a unique shape. This particular form boosts the atmospheric friction effect and prevents acceleration when the rain falls reach a certain velocity “limit.”
It’s not all about rain’s ‘measures.’ For example, the temperature may be lower than 400C degrees in air levels when it starts to rain. Nevertheless, rainfall never becomes ice particles. (The real threat for the life on earth would undoubtedly entail a lethal threat). This is because of the pure water in the atmosphere. As is known, even at very low temperatures, pure water barely freezes.

Earthquakes are Signs of Allah

“Are you confident that the One in heaven will not cause the earth to collapse beneath you as it vibrates?” (Quran, 67:16)
Although earth scientists understand how earthquakes might occur, they lose faith in their capacity to anticipate such events.
Glorious Quran underlines the fact that without knowledge, will and wisdom the Creator nothing happens in the cosmos. Earthquakes are part and parcel of the Divine design to punish people who are ill – just like many other natural disasters – doers try the devils and teach the saved people the lesson of their lives. If not, people will never learn from their own errors, or even from the faults of others, until they do this. No one can help in their forecast understanding the mechanics used to produce earthquakes and measure their intensities and magnitudes. The only way to prevent such and other catastrophes is to heal the Creator and to live by His directions.
In the glorious Quran the word ‘earthquake’ is twice mentioned, denoting ‘The Last Hour Quake’ which, over its lengthy history, is far more catastrophic than the earthquakes which have hit our factory. The Qur’an Glorious reads:
“O mankind! Fear your Lord and be dutiful to Him! Verily, the earthquake of the Hour (of Judgment) is a terrible thing. The Day you see it, every nursing mother will forget her nursling, and every pregnant one will drop her load, and you shall see mankind as in a drunken state, yet they will not be drunken, but severe will be the Torment of Allah.” (Surat Al-Hajj, :1-2)
The Qur’an says:
قَدْ مَكَرَ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ فَاَتَى اللّٰهُ بُنْيَانَهُمْ مِّنَ الْقَوَاعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّقْفُ مِنْ فَوْقِهِمْ وَاَتٰٮهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُوْنَ
“ Those before them indeed plotted, but Allah struck at the foundation of their building, and then the roof fell down upon them, from above them, and the torment overtook them from directions they did not perceive.” (Surat An-Nahl, 26)
And in the same chapter we read an emphasis on this conclusion as the Qur’an reads:
اَفَاَمِنَ الَّذِيْنَ مَكَرُوا السَّيِّاٰتِ اَنْ يَّخْسِفَ اللّٰهُ بِهِمُ الْاَرْضَ اَوْ يَاْتِيَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُوْنَۙ
“Do then those who devise evil plots feel secure that Allah will not sink them into the earth, or that the torment will not seize them from directions they perceive not?” (Surat An-Nahl :45)
We can clearly see from the previous two verses that the major reason behind the punishment for earthquakes is to plot the way of Allah and to develop wicked activities against persons or against humanity in general. The Glorious Quran repeating constantly stresses that the Creator’s wrath towards the evildoers of his creation has, and is, manner of expressing his wrath against earthquakes, rip-ups, tsunamis, hurricanes, cyclones, tropical storms, tropical depressions and other natural catastrophes. If innocent people are captured in this form of punishment, Allah will rebel against them and reward them extensively in accordance with their intentions. The Unfailing Quran reads:
“Do you then feel secure that He will not cause a side of the land to swallow you up, or that He will not send against you a violent sand-storm? Then, you shall find no Wakil (guardian – one to guard you from the torment).” (Surat Al-Isra:68)
The Qur’an emphasizes the fact that earthquakes were among other forms of punishment of previous deviators and ill-doers by saying:
“So We punished each (of them) for his sins; of them were some on whom We sent Hasib (a violent wind with shower of stones) (as the people of Lut) and of them were some who were overtaken by As-Saihah (torment – awful cry. (as Thamud or Shu’aib’s people)), and of them were some whom We caused the earth to swallow (as Qar’an (Korah)), and of them were some whom We drowned (as the people of Nuh (Noah), or Fir’aun (Pharaoh) and his people). It was not Allah Who wronged them, but they wronged themselves.” (Surat Al-‘Ankabut:40)
The Glorious Quran, together with other natural disasters, also makes earthquakes a perpetual threat to people who do wrong and constantly breach the God’s direction by saying:
اَمْ اَمِنْتُمْ مَّنْ فِى السَّمَآءِ اَنْ يُّرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًا‌ ؕ فَسَتَعْلَمُوْنَ كَيْفَ نَذِيْرِ
وَلَـقَدْ كَذَّبَ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيْرِ
“Or do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allah), will not send against you a violent whirlwind? Then you shall know how (terrible) has been My Warning? And indeed those before them belied (the Messengers of Allah), then how terrible was My denial (punishment)?”. (Surat Al-Mulk: 17-18)
Geologically it’s a process through which a long, thin continental is generated which is bounded by normal defects. This is an area-wide grab and denotes an area on the surface of the Earth along which the lithosphere ruptures under extension throughout its thickness. In fact, it’s a wonderful activity to try to comprehend the mechanisms used to carry on an earthquake and the numerous types of seismic waves that accompany it, to classify earthquakes and to generate measures both for their intensity and magnitude. More wonderful are the processes used to forecast earthquakes and the essential steps to avoid or limit its risks during and after the earthquake. Consolidation studies of buildings, bridges, highways, power lines and other structures.
Studies are highly regarded with respect to building strengthening, bridges, highway, utility lines and other disaster-related projects. This, however, does not challenge, that without the Creator’s intelligence, understanding or will nothing happens in the universe. Therefore, if earthquakes are to be avoided, we must follow His advice and as much as possible avoid His displeasure.

There is Cure in Zamzam Water

About 4,000 years ago today, Ibrahim (A.S.) exiled his beloved wife Hazrat Hajera (A.S.) and infant son Ismail (A.S.) to a sandy desert at the foot of the Faran Mountains in Mecca at God’s command. The helpless wife repeatedly asked in a moaning voice from behind, ‘Where are you going to leave us alone in this desolate desert?’ Ibrahim (A.S.) was impassive. No answers. To Muslims, the Zamzam water is very blessed and sacred. The hadith mentions the infinite welfare and blessings of this water.
The Prophet (S.A.W.) said, “The best and most beneficial water on earth is the water of Zamzam. This water is food for the hungry and healing for the sick.”(Ibn Majah) During the Farewell Hajj, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) drank a lot of Zamzam water, poured it over his eyes and poured it on his head. While staying at Hudaybiyah in the sixth Hijri, the Prophet (peace be upon him) brought the water of Zamzam from Makkah and drank it and brought it with him to Medina.
Aisha (R.A.) said, “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to take the Zamzam water with him whenever he went somewhere and sprinkle it on the sick.” Narrated by Ibn ‘Abbas (R.A.): ” The Companions used to drink the water of Zamzam with great relish and bring it home with them.”
Extensive research has been and is being done on Zamzam water. The Geological Survey of Saudi Arabia has a research center called the ‘Zamzam Studies and Research Center’.
Laboratory tests have shown that Zamzam water contains more calcium and magnesium salts than ordinary water, which plays a major role in relieving fatigue. The ingredients in Zamzam water are human food, nutrition and disease healing. The study was conducted at the initiative of the Department of Food and Nutrition by University of Nottingham. The study proved that Zamzam water is an excellent tonic for health. An Egyptian doctor who studied Zamzam water reported that the water contained magnesium, sodium, chloride, calcium carbonate, potassium nitrite and hydrogen. In 1986, a team from Tripoli, Libya, conducted a study of Zamzam water, which contained Total Dissolved Solid 1820, Chloril 234, Calcium Carbonate 365, Sulphate 190, Calcium + V-E, Magnesium + V-E, Iron, Sulfur V-E, Nitro.
Recently, a Japanese researcher, Masru Amoto, studied the water of Zamzam and said that the drop of water in Zamzam has its own mineral properties that no other water in the world has. He added that if one drop of Zamzam water is mixed with 1,000 drops of ordinary water, then that mixture is as pure as Zamzam water. Because pure water like Zamzam water cannot be found anywhere else in the world. In fact, the water of Zamzam is a living miracle of God’s might. As much research will be done on this water, it will be very inadequate.
Besides, there are several virtues of drinking Zamzam water in the light of Qur’an and Hadith. Hazrat Abu Jarr (R.A.) narrates that the Prophet (S.A.W.) said, “The water of Zamzam is blessed, the food of the seeker of taste.” (Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2473)
Imam ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “Zamzam water is the best and noblest of all waters, the highest in status, the dearest to people, the most precious and valuable to them. It was dug by Jibril and is the water with which Allah quenched the thirst of Isma’il.”
It was reported in Sahih Muslim that the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said to Abu Dharr, who had stayed near the Ka’bah and its coverings for forty days and nights with no food or drink other than (Zamzam), “How long have you been here?” Abu Dharr said, “I have been here for thirty days and nights.” The Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said, “Who has been feeding you?” He said, “I have had nothing but Zamzam water, and I have gotten so fat that I have folds of fat on my stomach. I do not feel any of the tiredness or weakness of hunger and I have not become thin.” The Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said, “Verily, it is blessed, it is food that nourishes.” [Narrated by Imam Muslim, 2473]
Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “Myself and others tried seeking healing with Zamzam water and saw wondrous things. I sought healing with it from a number of illnesses, and I was healed by the permission of Allah. I saw someone who nourished himself with it for a number of days, half a month or more, and he did not feel hunger; he performed tawaf along with the other people just as they did. And he told me that he consumed nothing but Zamzam water for forty days and he had the strength to have intercourse with his wife, to fast and to perform tawaf numerous times.” [Zad al-Ma’ad, 4/319, 320]
Shaykh ibn al-‘Uthaymin, may Allah have mercy upon him, said, “So you should have the intention of what you want to gain by drinking this water. He should drink his fill, i.e., fill his stomach with it until it is filled to the ribs, because this water is good. A hadith has been narrated concerning this: the difference between the believers and the hypocrites is drinking one’s fill of Zamzam water.” [Narrated by Ibn Majah in al-Manasik, 1017; al-Hakim, 1/472]
Al-Busayri said, “This is a sahih isnad; its men are mawthuqun [trustworthy]. This is because Zamzam water is not sweet; it is somewhat salty, and the believer only drinks this somewhat salty water out of faith, believing that there is barakah (blessing) in it. So when he drinks his fill of it, this is a sign of faith.” [Sharh al-Mumti’, 7/377, 378, 379]
Perhaps Allah did not make it sweet so that people would not forget that the meaning of drinking it is an act of worship. Whatever the case, its taste is fine and there is nothing wrong with it. We ask Allah to quench our thirst from the Cistern (al-Hawd) of His Prophet on the Day of the greatest thirst.
“So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?” [Quran, 13:55].
Religiously, Zamzam water holds a significant place for Muslims. Muslims drink this holy water, based in Mecca, and millions of pilgrims take it to their home countries as it is a cure to many diseases. One of the miracles of Zamzam water is that it doesn’t dry up in the hot and dry desert of Mecca.
Allah Says (what means): “{Verily, the first House (of worship) appointed for mankind was that at Bakkah (Makkah), full of blessing, and a guidance for Al-‘Alameen (the mankind and jinn). In it are manifest signs (for example), the Maqaam (place) of Ibraaheem (Abraham); whosoever enters it, he attains security}.” (Quran 3:96-97)
“{O our Lord! I have made some of my offspring to dwell in an uncultivable valley by Your Sacred House (the Ka’bah at Makkah) in order, O our Lord, that they may perform Salah (prayer). So fill some hearts among men with love towards them, and (O Allah) provide them with fruits so that they may give thanks.}” (Quran 14:37).

Allah further says:
“May Allah bestow His Mercy upon her (Hagar, the mother of Ismaa’eel), had she let go (of the water of Zamzam) it would have become a spring (rather than a well) whose water shall never dry.” (Ahmad)
Healing Properties of Zamzam Water
The natural qualities of Zamzam are distinctive because in nature they are “hard carbonated type water.” The microbial proliferation in the water from the well Zamzam has been demonstrated. Next is the potential healing characteristics of Zamzam water.
Purity of Zamzam Water:
Even when it passes through a lot of chemicals and attempts to alter its composition, the quality and purity of Zamzam water cannot be modified. Therefore, the pureness of Zamzam water is not only very healthy for the body, but also a miracle.
Zamzam Water and Aquaporin (AQP) Stimulation:
Zamzam water can activate AQPs, these are water channels that grow across the membrane and have a key role to play in managing cell water content (Sheng et al., 2006). The canals throughout all kingdoms of life, microbes, plants and animals are widely spread (Agre, 2006). They have certain linkages with membrane proteins in the main intrinsic protein (MIP) family and generate pores in biological cell membranes (Ali et al., 2009).
Zamzam Water and Dental Caries:
Al-Zuhair and Khounganian conducted a research study comparing water from Zamzam and other sources of water on the occurrence and severity of dental caries in schoolgirls. Clinical testing has shown that there are no statistically significant changes in the mixed dentition group, although in all children consuming Zamzam water the average score of decaying, missing, filled teat (DMFT) in the permanent dentition group was the lowest. The likely reason is the greater fluoride level in Zamzam water. Fluoride has a very strong impact in the prevention of tooth decay.
