Islam’s goal is to bring peace to the world and liberation to the afterlife. The Islamic way of life is open to everyone on the planet. Islam’s goal is to bring peace, security, and justice to human society. To meet the people’s basic needs and to protect their fundamental rights. The primary goal of Islamic law is to ensure people’s overall well-being and to protect human society from all evils and harms.
Islam is the name of protecting people’s life, property and honor. Allah says: “So let them worship the Lord of this House, Who has fed them with hunger and has protected them from fear.” (Surah Quraish: 3-4). That is, they should worship the Baitullah’s Lord, i.e., the Ka’bah, who has protected them from hunger and fear. This means that Islamic ideology is the only safeguard for people’s basic needs and fundamental rights. Man seeks to protect his life, property, and honor from all kinds of threats in order to survive in this world. All human rights are reflected in every aspect and section of the Islamic way of life. The main goal of the heavenly book, as well as the arrival of prophets and messengers, is to ensure true peace, welfare, and justice in human society. The arrival of the last Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the revelation of the last book Al-Quran are both aimed at this end goal. Its primary goal is to ensure social justice and safety for all people, regardless of race, religion, or caste.
Faith is exempt from coercion. The Islamic ideology and way of life are founded on faith. There is no place for coercion or coercion in believing this in Islam. The prophets and messengers had the responsibility of explaining truth and falsehood, justice and injustice, guidance and misguidance to the people. Man’s conscience, intellect, and will are entrusted with the decision to believe or not believe. Allah says:
“There is no compulsion in religion; The path of truth has become clear to be erroneous. Whoever denies Tagut, believes in Allah, will hold a strong handle that will never break. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Wise. ‘(Surat al-Baqara: 256). Allah declares elsewhere:
“And keep thyself with those who call on their Lord morning and evening desiring His goodwill, and let not thine eyes pass from them, desiring the beauties of this world’s life. And follow not him whose heart We have made unmindful of Our remembrance, and he follows his low desires and his case exceeds due bounds.” (Surat al-Kahf: 29)
Islam aims to promote human brotherhood in order to achieve long-term world peace. He believes that the entire human race is a single family. All human beings, according to Islam, are the creation of one God, who is also the Creator and Sustainer of the entire universe. He has given every human being human qualities and attributes, making them the best of creation. Islam teaches that all humans are descended from a single Adam and Eve. From Adam (peace be upon him) to all subsequent prophets and messengers, such as Hazrat Nuh (peace be upon him), Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him), Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him), Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him), Hazrat Muhammad (S) was a brother to all and there was no difference between them, according to Islam. Allah says:
“Allah’s Color; and who is better than he who has colored himself with Allah’s Color? And (so) We are His worshippers (servants).” (Surah Al Baqarah:138)
Allah the Almighty further said:
وَمَا كَانَ النَّاسُ اِلَّاۤ اُمَّةً وَّاحِدَةً فَاخْتَلَفُوْا ؕ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِنْ رَّبِّكَ لَـقُضِىَ بَيْنَهُمْ فِيْمَا فِيْهِ يَخْتَلِفُوْنَ
“People were the same ummah, then they created differences. Had it not been for the foreknowledge of your Lord, the matter on which they differed would have been settled.” (Surah 10 Yunus: 19).
Islam wants to build friendly relations with all nations
Islam instills in everyone the values of justice, fairness, and good manners. By establishing a global brotherhood, Islamic Sharia seeks to eliminate the causes of war. If it is possible to build cooperative good relations among all, regardless of race, religion, or caste, the risk of war is reduced in areas such as trade and commerce, economy, industry, science, technology, health policy, and so on. In addition to human brotherhood, Islam seeks to establish a faith-based brotherhood in order to establish a relationship of peace rather than global war. He enlisted the help of Abdullah bin Arikat, a Makkan polytheist, to accompany him on his journey. The Prophet (S) enlisted the help of the Jews in the war, and Chawan ibn Umayyah, despite being a polytheist, fought alongside the Prophet (PBUH) in the battle of Hunayn. A Muslim is described as a friend of another Muslim in the Qur’an: “The believing man and the believing woman are friends of each other, they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, establish prayer, pay zakat and obey Allah and His Messenger; God will have mercy on them. Surely Allah is Mighty, Wise.” (Surah 9: Tawbah: 71). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) compared the Muslim Ummah to a human body. This ummah has been compared to a palace, one part of which strengthens the other part. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Every Muslim is a brother to one another, no one harms anyone or is harmed by another.” (Bukhari).
Islam also instructs to treat the enemy fairly
In this regard, the Qur’an says: “O you who believe! You shall be steadfast in the testimony of God; Never let hatred of any community persuade you to reject justice. Do justice, it is nearer to piety and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is All-Aware of what you do.” (Surat al-Ma’idah: 7). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) treated the absolute enemy well. Besides, he maintained good relations with non-Muslims. He has dealt with them and also exchanged labor.
Creating unrest in the world is not Islam-supported
Allah the Almighty said:”When he leaves, he tries to create unrest in the world and destroy crops and animals. And Allah does not like unrest.” (Surat al-Baqara: 205). Allah the Almighty further said: “Once peace has been established in the world, do not let it be ruined, call on Him with fear and hope. Indeed, the bounty of Allah is near to the doers of good.” (Surat al-A’raf, 56). Explaining this verse, Imam Ibn Kathir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Allah has forbidden the actions that harm the earth. Because, when the work is going on in a peaceful environment, if there is chaos, it will be more harmful for the slaves. The Qur’an says: “Do not cause unrest in the land.” (Surat al-Baqara, 11).
Peace, not war, is the absolute worship of Islam
Islam does not allow war in words. In cases where war is allowed, its purpose is to establish peace. The verses regarding the permission of armed warfare say: “So if they turn away from you, do not fight you and offer you peace, then Allah will not make for you any action against them.” (Al Qur’an)
Islam maintains etiquette and humanity even in times of war
In cases where war is permitted, Islam also demands the highest morality, values, patience, and tolerance. Islam forbids indiscriminate attacks on anyone. When sending troops to Syria, Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (R.A.), the first caliph of Islam, told them not to kill women, children, and the elderly, not to mutilate corpses, and not to harm saints and ascetics; and no temples would be vandalized. Will not endanger livestock, fruit trees, or crops; will not fail to keep promises. Those who surrender or surrender will be treated the same as Muslims in terms of security.
The Qur’an says, “O you who believe! Enter Islam wholeheartedly and do not follow in the footsteps of Satan. Surely he is your open enemy.” (Surat al-Baqara: 207)
It is the believer’s responsibility to fully enter Islam and to practice and spread the correct teachings and rules of Islam in all aspects of life. Then, by Allah’s will, complete peace will reign in our lives, and the truth and correctness of the term Islam, the religion of peace, will be manifested in reality.
Anyone who studies the Prophet’s (PBUH) life will notice that his message was one of peace. Before and after the Prophethood, the main demands of his life were always peace and tranquility. He was involved in the early stages of his life in developing good character, connecting people, and bringing peace to society by assisting the oppressed. Hilful Fuzul was founded with his participation. Similarly, even after becoming a prophet, he only desired kindness and tenderness, as well as peace. His only desire and attraction is for all of them. Allah says: “I have sent you as a mercy to the worlds.” (Al Qur’an)
It is narrated in Bukhari that “the camel of the Prophet (S) went to a place called Hudaybiyah and sat down.’ He then said, ‘I swear by the One in whose hand is my soul, if the Quraysh want anything to show respect for any of the honorable things of Allah, I will fulfill it.’ He added, ‘We have not come to fight. Instead, we have come to perform Umrah. ‘However, the Quraysh prevented him from entering the Haram Sharif. He then signed a treaty with them, which sparked his interest in establishing peace. “And if they wish to make peace, then be kind to them, and put your trust in Allah. Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing.” (Al Qur’an)
The Prophet’s (S) fragrant life is proof that he did not advocate for war or conflict. He avoided quarrels and disputes by being kind, generous, and forgiving. When his people were tormenting him unbearably at the start of the call to Makkah, the angels of the mountains came to him. He requested permission to unite the two hills of Makkah in order to crush the Quraysh infidels. Then he decided on peace and peace alone. He said: “Rather, I hope that Allah will expel from their descendants those who worship one God and do not associate anything with Him.” (Bukhari and Muslim)
The Islamic system has made it necessary for people to have mutual love, compassion, cooperation, good relations, and united living in order to ensure peace and security in their lives. Divisions, disunity, violence, hatred, jealousy, murder, despair, deprivation, exploitation, oppression, and rifts between normal relationships, on the other hand, are strictly forbidden in Islam. As a result, Islam has nothing to do with destructive activities such as terrorism or militancy.
Anti-Islamists have recently been spreading various anti-Islam propaganda. As a result, a few brief guidelines on the integrity and transparency of Islam are given from the Qur’an and Sunnah:
The welfare of the people is a priority in Islam, and one aspect of humanity’s welfare is the establishment of peace and security. The Muslim nation has been entrusted with this responsibility. Allah has declared the best nation to be those who will carry out this duty. He said, “You are the best nation, you have been chosen for the good of mankind.” (Surah Al ‘Imran: 110)
The Qur’an is a guide
Allah says: “Verily, this Qur’aan guides to the path which gives glad tidings to the steadfast and upright believers that they have a great reward. And for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have prepared a painful punishment.” (Surah Bani Isra’il: 9-10)
Islam has instructed us to be kind to our parents, relatives, the poor and all human beings. Allah says:
“Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the neighbor farther away, the companion at your side, the traveler, and those whom your right hands possess. Indeed, Allah does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful.” (Surah An-Nisa’: 36)
Islam forbids unjust killing and embezzlement
Allah says:
“O you who believe! You do not devour one another’s wealth unjustly, but by mutual consent through trade and commerce (devour what is earned). And do not kill one another. Surely Allah is Merciful to you. And whoever transgresses and tortures, I will cast him into the fire of Hell. That is easy for Allah.” (Surah An-Nisa’: 29-30)
Islam forbids making fun of people
Allah says:
“O you who believe! No man should make fun of another man. Perhaps they are better than the mockers. And no woman should make fun of another woman. Perhaps they are better than the mockers. Do not blame one another and do not call one another by evil names. How bad it is to do evil after believing. And those who do not repent are the wrongdoers.” (Surah Al-Hujurat: 11)
Islam forbids slander
Allah says:
“O you who believe! You stay away from more ideas. Because some ideas are sinful. And do not seek the secrets of others, and do not slander one another. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? No, you will dislike it. Be careful of (your duty to) Allah, surely Allah is Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful.” (Surah Al-Hujurat: 12)
Islam forbids hurting anyone with the tongue and hands. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “A true Muslim is one from whose tongue and hand other Muslims are safe.” (Bukhari and Muslim, Mishkat: 6)
The Prophet (S) said, “He whose neighbor cannot be safe and secure from misconduct will not enter Paradise.” (Bukhari and Muslim, Mishkat: 4983)
Why is it illegal in Islam to oppress people or even animals? Abdullah bin Omar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “A woman has been tormented because of a cat. He tied the cat. So he died. As a result, the woman has entered hell. When the woman tied the cat, she was not allowed to eat or drink. He was not even allowed to eat earthworms.” (Bukhari, Muslim and Mishkat:1903)
Islam has been declared the world’s most peaceful religion by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). UNESCO recently issued a statement in this regard. Earlier, UNESCO, in collaboration with the International Peace Foundation, conducted research on all religions of the world. The main purpose of the study was to find out which is the most peaceful religion in the world. “After six months of in-depth research and analysis, we have come to the conclusion that Islam is the most peaceful religion in the world,” said Robert McGee, head of comparative research at the International Peace Foundation.
