The Mystery of Ablution and its Importance

Allah the Almighty said, “That is, O believers! When you are ready for the prayer, wash your face and your hands up to the elbows, and massage your head. And wash both feet up to the ankles.” (Quran Majeed 5/6)
Ablution is obligatory for prayer in order to purify oneself from impurity. In this regard, the Prophet (peace be upon him) also said, “Allah does not accept anyone’s prayer until the ablution is broken and the ablution is repeated.” (Bukhari, Muslim, Sahih Mishkat No. 300)
Several hadiths have been narrated regarding the greatness and virtue of ablution. In a hadith, he said, “On the Day of Resurrection, my Ummah will be called; At that time, their faces and hands and feet will be radiant as a result of ablution.” (Bukhari 138, Muslim, Sahih No. 248)
In another hadith, he said, “As far as the water of ablution reaches, the believer’s body will be adorned with ornaments (jyoti).” (Muslim, Sahih No. 250)
The Prophet (SAW) added, “When a Muslim or a believer washes his face for the purpose of ablution, with the water of ablution or with the last drop of water, every sin that he has committed through the sight of two eyes comes out. Then when he washes his hands, every sin that he has committed with both hands comes out with the water or with the last drop of water. Then when he washes his walking on his feet comes out with the water or with the last drop of water. He is cleansed from all sin until the end.” (Malek, Muslim No. 244, Tirmidhi)
The Beloved Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “The eight gates of Paradise are opened for any one of you who performs a complete ablution and recites (the following); He can enter through any door.”
“I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I do not associate anything with Him, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger.”
