The study of contemporary cosmology, theory and observation, shows plainly that the world at some point was little more than a ‘smoke’ cloud (i.e. an opaque highly dense and hot gaseous composition). This is a standard modern cosmology principle. This is undisputed. Scientists may now detect the formation of new stars out of these “smoke” remains. As was the whole cosmos, the dazzling stars we see in the night were in the “smoke” stuff. In the Quran, God says in the Quran:
“Then He turned to the heaven when it was smoke.” (Quran, 41:11)
Because the earth and the heavens above (the sun, the moon, stars, planets, galaxies, etc.) have been formed from this same ‘smoke,’ we conclude that the earth and the heavens were one connected entity. Then out of this homogeneous ‘smoke,’ they formed and separated from each other. God has said in the Quran:
As the earth and the heavens above were produced from this same ‘smoke’ (sun, moon, stars, planets, galaxy, etc.), we deduce that Earth and heaven were a connected entity. Then they developed and split from one other from this homogenous “smoke.” In the Quran, God said:
“Have not those who disbelieved known that the heavens and the earth were one connected entity, then We separated them?.” (Quran, 21:30)
One of the internationally famous geologists is Dr. Alfred Kroner. He is Professor of Geology of the University of Johannes Gutenberg, Mainz, Germany, Chairman of the Institute of Geology of Geoscience. He remarked, “Thinking where Muhammad came from.” I think it is almost difficult for him to know something like the universe’s common origin, because scientists recently figured out, with highly complex and advanced technical ways, that this is the case in the past few years.” He remarked further, “I assume that anyone who didn’t know anything about nuclear physics 1400 years ago couldn’t find out, from his own thoughts for example, that the earth and the skies were the same.”
