The word Rain مطر غَيْثٍ etc mentioned 23 times in Quran in 20 verses.
“O you who have believed, do not invalidate your charities with reminders or injury as does one who spends his wealth [only] to be seen by the people and does not believe in Allah and the Last Day. His example is like that of a [large] smooth stone upon which is dust and is hit by a downpour that leaves it bare. They are unable [to keep] anything of what they have earned. And Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.” (Quran, 2:264)
“And the example of those who spend their wealth seeking means to the approval of Allah and assuring [reward for] themselves is like a garden on high ground which is hit by a downpour – so it yields its fruits in double. And [even] if it is not hit by a downpour, then a drizzle [is sufficient]. And Allah , of what you do, is Seeing.” (Quran, 2:265)

“And when you are among them and lead them in prayer, let a group of them stand [in prayer] with you and let them carry their arms. And when they have prostrated, let them be [in position] behind you and have the other group come forward which has not [yet] prayed and let them pray with you, taking precaution and carrying their arms. Those who disbelieve wish that you would neglect your weapons and your baggage so they could come down upon you in one [single] attack. But there is no blame upon you, if you are troubled by rain or are ill, for putting down your arms, but take precaution. Indeed, Allah has prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment.” (Quran, 4:102)

“Such as remember Allah, standing, sitting, and reclining, and consider the creation of the heavens and the earth, (and say): Our Lord! Thou createst not this in vain. Glory be to Thee! Preserve us from the doom of Fire.” (Al-Qur’an 3:191)
For the permanence of life in one location, Rain is a requirement. Rain is referenced in several verses of the Quran, which is extremely important for all the living things, including people, where substantial information is provided concerning rain formation and its proportions and consequences. The fact that at the time of the revelation of the Quran none of this information could be found demonstrates that the Qur’an is the word of Allah.
This ‘measure’ referred to in the text relates to a number of rain qualities. First of all, there is always the same amount of rain falling on the earth. One second, 16 million tons of water are believed to evaporate from the ground. This is comparable to the water that falls in one second on the earth. It indicates that water circulates constantly according to a ‘measure’ in a balanced cycle.
The Proportion of Rain
In the eleventh verse of Surah Az-Zukhruf, rain is defined as water sent down in due measure. The verse is as follows:
“And He who sends down (from time to time) water from the sky in due measure, and We raise to life therewith a land that is dead. Even so will you be raised (from the dead).” (Al-Qur’an 43:11)
The Formation of Rain
How rain forms had long been a big mystery to humanity. It could not have been feasible to know at which stages rain formed until air radars were found. The rain is formed in three phases: First of all, the raw rain material is raised in the air. The clouds formed later and rain drops finally appeared. These stages of the Quran, when detailed information about the development of rainy years was provided in advance, are clearly stated;
“It is Allah Who sends the Winds, and they raise the Clouds: then does He spread them in the sky as He wills, and break them into fragments, until you see rain-drops issue from the midst thereof: then when He has made them reach such of his servants as He wills behold, they do rejoice!” (Al Quran)
Life Given to a Dead Land
In the Qur’an, a lot of verses call our attention to a particular function of rain, which is “giving life to a dead land”. It is stated in a verse as:
“We send down pure water from the sky. That with it We may give life to a dead land, and slake the thirst of things We have created, cattle and men in great numbers.” (Al-Qur’an 25:48- 49)
Seeds and plants on the earth find numerous metallic salts and elements essential for their growth here in these rain drops. This event is informed in another verse of the Qur’an as follows:
“And We send down from the sky rain chartered with blessing, and We produce therewith gardens and grain for harvests.” (Al-Qur’an 50:9)
Salt falling from rain is a minor example of a few fertilizers used to increase fertility (calcium, magnesium, potassium, etc). On the other side, the heavy metals found in these aerosol kinds are other components which enhance fertility in plant development and output. These sea-originated aerosols also contribute to the forest development and feed. In this manner, the entire surface of land each year decreases to 150 million tons of fertilizer. There would be very little vegetation on the Earth if there was no such natural fertilization and the ecological equilibrium would be disturbed. More interestingly, Allah had informed the Quran centuries before of this reality that could only be found by modern science.
The falling speed is another statistic linked to rain. The rain clouds have a minimum altitude of 1.200 m. When an object with the same weight and size of a rain drop fell from this height, it would constantly accelerate and fall on the ground at 558 km/h. Of course, any object hitting the earth at this speed would inflict great harm. In the event of a similar drop in rain, all harvested regions, residences and cars would be devastated, people would not be able to go around with appropriate safeguards. Moreover, these calculations are developed for clouds of 1,200 meters high, but rain clouds of 10,000 meters high also exist. A fall in rain from such an altitude might usually reach a highly destructive rate. It doesn’t work like this, however. Regardless of how high they fall the average rainfall speed only reaches the ground 8-10 km/h. This is because they take a unique shape. This particular form boosts the atmospheric friction effect and prevents acceleration when the rain falls reach a certain velocity “limit.”
It’s not all about rain’s ‘measures.’ For example, the temperature may be lower than 400C degrees in air levels when it starts to rain. Nevertheless, rainfall never becomes ice particles. (The real threat for the life on earth would undoubtedly entail a lethal threat). This is because of the pure water in the atmosphere. As is known, even at very low temperatures, pure water barely freezes.
